Blacksox Workout Facilities

Anyone you ask would answer the same to the question of where do the Blacksox players live….on the baseball field. However, it is also important to have a workout facility and dormitory that is second to none. The Burkburnett Blacksox have just that. Our facilities are located in the center of Burkburnett, Texas. They consist of two large buildings that house the Blacksox player when the are away from the home, and other home (the baseball field).

Blacksox Philosophy

Discipline

We will strive to instill discipline both on and off the field. We want all the players to understand that we are not just trying to teach baseball, we are trying to develop life skills, and baseball is a great way to learn those skills.

Organization

Organization is a key element of a successful endeavor. We will strive to make sure that every practice, and every event that we encounter is organized and well thought-out.

Fundamentals

We strongly believe that coaching is teaching and teaching is coaching. We will strive to teach every young man in the program the fundamentals of the game as well as the game itself.

Love of the Game

As in life, if you love what you do, it shows. We love baseball and we want to instill that in all of the young athletes that become a part of our Blacksox family.

Gomez Indoor Facility

This 7,000 square foot, state of the art workout facility provides the Blacksox players with amenities greater than most college and professional teams in America.

The facility was graciously donated to the Blacksox by the parents of a former player, Mr. and Mrs. Raul and Jymme Gomez. Their gift to the Blacksox is one that benefits not only the team’s players, but also youth from any age.

The Gomez facility houses 2 batting tunnels with pitching machines, a pitching tunnel, a weight room, player dorm, coaches bedroom, kitchen, game room, showers, and a large living area.

Cornelius Center

The Cornelius Center is a 9,000 square foot facility with housing for 80 players and their coaches. There is also a practice infield and 7 practice pitching mounds located next to the facility. The facility is unlike any other in amateur baseball.

Henderson Field

The Burkburnett Blacksox organization partners with the Burkburnett Independent School District to utilize Henderson Field as the home game field. It is located on the campus of Burkburnett High School and is only a few blocks away from the Blacksox workout facility and dorms.
